About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Adviser in community consultation and stakeholder engagement to join our team in Brisbane. This role will develop and execute consultation and engagement strategies to support Santos' key regulatory approvals for projects, with a focus on NSW but opportunity to be involved in other growth projects across the Eastern Australia portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of stakeholder engagement and community consultation strategies and plans to support regulatory approvals for Santos' projects in NSW.
- Ensure compliance with NSW legislation, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and community consultation deliverables, including developing required collateral, support material, key messages, and media plans.
- Work with Santos' Government Affairs, Community, Legal, and Environment teams to identify and manage stakeholder opportunities, risks, and issues that impact regulatory approvals.
- Review and assure responses to stakeholders in conjunction with relevant environment project managers and technical experts and coordinate internal approvals.
- As required, lead consultation activities for proposed activities.
- Develop and manage engagement and consultation records.
- Develop documentation for variations to engagement and consultation plans.
- Participate in internal assurance review processes or Regulator inspection activities as required.
- Holding a Bachelor of Business, Communications, Legal, or similar, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:
- Demonstrated experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and ability to apply strategic approach to managing and resolving complex public issues.
- Strong working knowledge of Commonwealth and New South Wales environmental approvals process, and other relevant legislation and government/industry guidance.
- Advanced interpersonal, public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and take on additional responsibilities, as required.
- Experience with commercial and legal frameworks in a corporate environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite and Adobe applications.
- Ability to travel for work requirements on occasion.
