Senior Library Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Senior Library Officer to lead our team of diverse professionals in delivering exceptional library services to the Central Highlands region.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of library services and programs across multiple branches, ensuring adherence to strategic plans and guidelines.
- Develop and support staff to deliver efficient and effective customer-focused services.
- Analyze and report on library functions and issues to inform strategic decision-making.
- Oversee local history and heritage collections, activities, and programs across all branches.
- Plan and implement promotional and marketing activities to engage the community.
- Support relationships with key stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of library functions, programs, and services.
- Provide accurate information and reference assistance to customers using public access catalogues and library collections.
- Conduct outreach sessions, including storytelling, school visits, book clubs, library tours, and computer classes.
- Minimum Diploma in Library and Information Services with relevant experience, or other related qualification(s) and substantial experience in library services.
- Queensland Working with Children Blue Card, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
- Queensland C class provisional driver's licence.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and cooperatively in a team, with operational and supervisory responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction to staff as and when required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide point-of-need services to internal and external customers, adapting to emerging technology platforms and delivery modes.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work weekends as backup to rostered team members as required.
- Ability to travel to all library locations as required.
- A generous superannuation scheme – up to 19.75% for employees contributing 6% (conditions apply).
- 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
