About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Optimization Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and control of project costs, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize cost efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with project functions and accounting/administrative functions on cost control matters.
- Ensuring implemented systems and procedures meet contractual and internal process requirements.
- Preparing monthly IPA processes, cost reports, and quarterly CTC processes.
- Assisting project stakeholders with valuation and cost analysis reports, forecasting, and cost to complete.
- Undertaking regular audits and plausibility checks to ensure accurate reporting of forecasts.
- Reporting errors or misuse of the cost control system to the Project Commercial Manager.
- Preparing other analysis or reports required by the Project Commercial Manager.
Requirements:
- 'Numbers focused' individual with strong interest in analyzing complex data.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel Visual Basic and Power BI.
- At least 5 years of experience in cost control roles, with working knowledge of Accounting and Finance in Projects environments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting/Quantity Surveying or relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in estimating, costing, and/or planning multi-disciplined projects.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Commercial acumen.
- Understanding of customer/client needs.
- Proven leadership, negotiating, and lateral thinking skills.
- Financial management, reducing costs and meeting budgets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Contruent or Ecosys Experience.
- Proficiency in SAP or Other ERP System.
- Experience working on large projects in the Energy Industry, preferably Hydro.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple time zones.
