As a dynamic leader in health infrastructure, this role oversees the future of strategic asset management for South Australians.

The Strategic Asset Manager will lead capital projects and asset sustainment across the Local Health Network, fostering operational efficiency and quality improvement.

This position requires a high-level expert in capital works management, facilities management, and complex contract delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, managing, and administering capital projects and asset sustainment.
  • Developing and implementing strategic asset management plans to optimize health network infrastructure.
  • Maintaining condition assessments of built assets and facilitating efficient asset sustainment processes through contractor management.
  • Engaging stakeholders, collaborating with executive leaders, facility managers, sites, external contractors, and government agencies.
  • Providing advice on asset benchmarks, performance measures, and risk management, including carbon accounting requirements.
  • Preparing project briefs, business cases, and budget bids for major infrastructure projects; creating high-quality reports and correspondence for executive, board, and funding bodies.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgement and strategic leadership.
  • High-level experience in capital works management, facilities management, and complex contract delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing budgets, reports, briefings, correspondence, and business case analyses.
