About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Science educator to join a reputable government school in the Melbourne region. The school caters to students from 7-10 and is known for its excellent student behaviour, learning coaching, and ample resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
  • Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in science education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration.

Requirements:

  • Completed relevant qualifications in education.
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration.
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in primary teaching.
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
