About the Role

SYC is seeking a qualified Trainer and Assessor to join our team in delivering the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program. This program aims to improve the language, literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy skills of Australians aged 15 and above, enhancing their access to further study and work opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality language, literacy, and numeracy training, enabling participants to access and prepare for further vocational training, education, and employment. This role will play a crucial part in promoting SYC's SEE Program and contributing to a supportive and results-driven team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Pre-Training assessments for participants.
  • Develop and deliver engaging language, literacy, numeracy, job-search, and digital literacy training, providing support to students to access and prepare for further education, vocational training, and employment.
  • Establish and maintain positive networks and effective referral relationships with Workforce Australia providers, local employers, and the community, sourcing work experience placements and employment opportunities.
  • Ensure all training delivered meets relevant industry requirements and VET Quality Framework standards.
  • Complete all required preparation and non-teaching tasks associated with the delivery of training in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the management team to deliver best-practice training products.
  • Provide advice, support, and mentoring to students.
About You

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Trainer and Assessor who is passionate about delivering effective training and supporting students on their learning journey. The successful candidate will possess:

  • A current Cert IV in Training and Assessment or diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
  • TESOL or Language, Literacy, and/or Numeracy practitioner qualification at minimum Certificate IV level.
  • Previous experience delivering Language, Literacy, and Numeracy or foundation skills programs, with a focus on engaging students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASQA standards and VET Quality Framework, vocational education, training sector, flexible learning, and assessment methodologies.
