Job Description:

Renewable Energy Technician

Maintain and service utility-scale battery storage sites, primarily Tesla Megapack, in the Chinchilla/Western Downs region. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing equipment as defined by the service engineering team.

The successful candidate will have experience with complex electro-mechanical debugging, rework, and repairs. They will also be comfortable working in Medium and High Voltage environments with a strong focus on safety.

Key responsibilities include operating various hand tools, power tools, and LV/MV/HV testing equipment for diagnosis and troubleshooting. Clear communication is essential, including daily updates on work completed, problems identified, and timelines.

This is an exciting opportunity to build a career in the renewable energy infrastructure sector.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certified Electrician (Cert III or higher) in Electrical/Electro Technology
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, with at least 3 years' electrical maintenance experience, ideally within the Utility sector (Solar/Wind/Transmission experience preferred)
  • Up-to-date Electrical Registration/License
  • HV switching experience
  • SCADA operating experience is a plus
  • Ability to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions
  • Strong computer skills, ability to utilise proprietary and 3rd party OEM software
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Willingness to work outdoors, occasionally on the road at unusual hours
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and test equipment
