Senior Asset Manager

Job Role:
A Protection Engineer is required to join the Network Services division as a key member of the Zone Assets team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of protection assets, including design, testing, maintenance and performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing protection system designs, relay settings and commissioning plans
- Performing fault analysis, root cause investigations and system incident reporting
- Supporting embedded generation connections and liaising with AEMO
- Leading network protection grading studies and producing technical documentation
- Advising on safety issues including arc flash and earthing
- Supporting field teams with technical testing and troubleshooting
- Contributing to standards development and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
- ACT Professional Engineering Registration (or ability to obtain)
- Strong experience in HV/LV protection systems and relay design
- Proficiency in power system software and protection grading studies
- Familiarity with Omicron/Doble test sets and IEC 61850 technologies
- Knowledge of embedded generation protection requirements
- Understanding of arc flash safety and earthing principles
- AusCheck security clearance (or ability to obtain)
