Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

The role of a logistics coordinator is crucial in ensuring the smooth transportation of goods from one place to another. This position requires an individual who can supervise logistics personnel and manage logistics responsibilities on a project basis.

  • The successful candidate will perform domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • They will coordinate shipments with internal and external entities, ensuring all logistical processes are carried out efficiently.
  • A critical component of this role is the entry of shipment tracking data into Transport Management System (TMS) and other functional tools/systems to provide visibility of shipment status.
  • The logistics coordinator will also prepare logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
  • Additionally, they will be responsible for audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures.
  • In this capacity, the individual will identify transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers.
  • Assistance to the project Logistics Lead as requested will also be a key aspect of this role.
  • The candidate will file and resolve Logistics Service Provider claims, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Preparation of Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents will also be part of their responsibilities.
  • Furthermore, the individual will prepare logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits.
  • Ensuring integration of safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities will be a critical component of this role.

This position requires minimal supervision, with some latitude for judgment. The individual will possess problem-solving responsibility while working under defined guidelines and may assist less-experienced team members.
