About the role
We are seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to assist with the administration and compliance of indirect taxes for our group. This role involves working closely with the Indirect Tax Manager to ensure accurate and timely tax returns, as well as maintaining records to support the Franchisor in monitoring and evaluating franchisee businesses.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain extensive experience in indirect tax and advance their career within a large, complex organisation. You will have the chance to work on a wide range of tasks, including:
- Assisting with GST compliance, including BAS, IAS, and PAYG.
- Preparing FBT returns and maintaining processes and checklists to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Maintaining accounting and tax records to support the Franchisor's Office in monitoring and evaluating franchisee business.
- Reconciling BAS payments and refunds for Franchisor Reports of franchised complexes.
- Maintaining and registering Australian Business Numbers for all members of the group.
- Providing ad-hoc indirect tax advice, including GST implications affecting new business initiatives.
- Reporting and reconciling PAYG accounts, analysing payroll reports received from external sources, and performing monthly payroll tax calculations and annual reconciliations.
