Job Description

As a key strategic position within the organisation, the Senior Advisor plays a vital role in delivering integrated, high-impact communications. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative and drive collaboration across teams to deliver clear, informative and engaging content for the community.

This role ensures alignment across media, social, corporate, and emerging platforms, with a strong focus on traditional media. The Senior Advisor protects the organisation's reputation by delivering effective and accessible communications on key issues, policies, and initiatives.

Working closely with senior leaders, executives, and councillors, you'll provide expert strategic advice and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and journalists. You'll contribute to the delivery of timely, accurate, and high-quality communications, working across all portfolios to support proactive and reactive communications strategies.

  • Tertiary qualifications in media, journalism, public relations, or communications
  • Proven ability to manage complex, sensitive issues in a dynamic environment
  • Strong understanding of strategy delivery across owned and earned media channels
  • Ability to work proactively and reactively with sound judgment in high-risk situations
