Operations and Production Specialist

This is a part-time position as an Operations and Production Specialist in a manufacturing facility for supplements and nutraceuticals. As a key member of our team, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations and activities across manufacturing, client coordination, project management, quality assurance, and operational logistics.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to assist with operating and maintaining production equipment (mixing, filling, packaging, and sealing). You will also be responsible for assisting with raw material handling, weighing, and documentation. Additionally, you will support compliance with food safety and quality requirements by liaising with clients and suppliers and contributing to continuous process improvements.

You will work closely with management to scale operations and manage projects from start to finish. Your tasks will include ensuring hygiene standards and process validations are maintained, preparing standard operating procedures for equipment and processes, and completing and maintaining batch production records (BPRs), cleaning logs, and stock registers.

Your role will involve supporting HACCP and food safety compliance, handling packaging operations, and coordinating logistics and product dispatch. You will also be responsible for managing project timelines and operational logistics, as well as client and vendor relationship management.

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• At least 2+ years hands-on experience in food, supplements, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Extensive experience handling production operations, including ingredient preparation, formulation, equipment operation, and product packaging.
• Ability to provide accurate unit costings for manufactured products by assessing raw material, labour, packaging, and operational inputs.
• Strong experience in client and vendor relationship management, including interpreting client briefs and translating them into production plans.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Highly innovative with excellent initiative.
• Proven project management ability from concept to delivery, including formulation costing, scheduling, resource allocation, and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality standards.
• Competence in managing batch production records, cleaning logs, and stock registers.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and regulatory compliance relevant to supplements and nutraceuticals.
• Basic inventory management and procurement skills to ensure raw material availability and cost control.
• Ability to prepare or contribute to SOPs, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office or ERP/MRP software for tracking operations, stock, and projects.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to adapt in a growing environment, with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities.
