Delivering high-quality patient care is at the forefront of our nutrition services. We are seeking an experienced Dietitian Assistant to support our dedicated team at Canterbury Hospital.

About the Role

The successful applicant will act as liaison between the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing Staff in the ward, and the Food Services Department. With the guidance of the Dietitian, the Dietitian Assistant assists in maintaining a high standard of nutritional care for inpatients. This includes working closely with patients to develop personalized meal plans, ensuring optimal nutritional intake and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records and communication with the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Nursing Staff
  • Assist in preparing patient meal plans and menus, taking into account individual needs and dietary requirements
  • Collaborate with the Food Services Department to ensure seamless delivery of patient meals, meeting high standards of quality and presentation
Requirements
  • Cert III or IV in Dietitian Assistant, Dietary Practices or Home Economics Certificate or equivalent
  • Demonstrated substantial experience in a similar position, preferably within a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly CBORD software, to manage patient data and meal planning efficiently
