Healthcare Assistant - Exercise and Therapy Role

We are seeking a motivated Allied Health Assistant to join our team, working in a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to maintain the functional independence of our clients through exercise and therapy programs.

About the Role
  • The primary role is to build open and respectful relationships with our clients and their families, treating every interaction as an opportunity to bring respect, life and joy to the relationship.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Enhance the wellness and lifestyle capacity of residents through exercise and activities focused on restorative and rehabilitative programs.
  2. Deliver exercise and therapy programs both 1:1 and in small groups, in accordance with the Physiotherapist's care plan.
  3. Assist with client assessments and re-assessments of their physical capabilities as part of their exercise and therapy programs.
  4. E nsure residents have access to assistive devices as assessed by the physiotherapist.
  5. Assist with administrative tasks such as equipment ordering and liaising with families.
  6. Assist with facility cleanliness.
  7. Report relevant changes to the Physiotherapist regarding resident progress with exercises.
  8. Report changes in resident health or behaviour immediately to the Registered Nurse or Facility Manager.
  9. Assist in other physical activities delivered by the Lifestyle team.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
  • Computer and phone technology literacy (including Microsoft Office and Outlook)
  • Current State full driver's license
  • Vaccinations up to date or willing and able to obtain, as required by legislation and/or company policy
  • VIC Only – NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC or ability to obtain
  • Right to Work in Australia
  • Current 'Provide First Aid' Certificate and CPR
  • Physical ability to perform stated duties
