Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Graduate Data Engineer to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering principles and practices, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

About the Role:

  1. The Graduate Data Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying data engineering solutions.
  2. They will be responsible for undertaking various data engineering tasks under senior team members' supervision.
  3. Participation in meetings to gather requirements and achieve objectives is also expected.
  4. The role involves estimating work hours for sprint planning and improving estimation accuracy over time.
  5. The Graduate Data Engineer will develop, deploy, test, and monitor data engineering solutions with minimal supervision.
  6. Reading and writing technical documentation using industry-standard notation is an essential part of the job.

Requirements:

  • A recent graduate (within last 12 months or graduating by end of 2024) with a degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field.
  • Good understanding of data profiling, cleansing, transformation methods, Kimball dimensional data model, ETL/ELT design patterns, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills and internal drive for engineering excellence.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate analytical, problem-solving and lateral thinking with strong attention to detail.
