Job Overview

The Mechanical Fitter role encompasses the mechanical maintenance of fixed plant equipment located at Kunwarara operations and Parkhurst processing plant. This involves ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and reliable manner.

  • The incumbent will install new and maintain existing equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Providing feedback to supervisors and planners is essential for effective work scheduling.
  • A one in eight week on-call roster applies to Parkhurst processing only.
  • Development of work plans to efficiently complete assigned tasks, including tools, equipment, and spare parts, is crucial.
  • Routine mechanical maintenance, breakdown work, and problem analysis must be performed to meet daily and long-term safety and production needs.
  • The Mechanical Fitter identifies, initiates, and implements plant improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Minor project work is undertaken to improve plant performance and safety.
  • Review and provide feedback on work procedures and PMs to maintain a current maintenance system.
  • Maintenance activities are recorded using SAP, a computer-based system tracking work history and parts usage.
  • Guidance and development of work group personnel in safety, technical, and procedural matters is an important aspect of this role.
About The Requirements
  • Manual Licence is a requirement.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic control systems and compressors is necessary.
  • Maintenance experience with bulk materials handling equipment, including Belt Conveyors, Cone and Jaw Crushers, Slurry Pumps, and Vibrating Springs, is required.
  • EWP – Elevated Work Platform certification is mandatory.
  • Working at Heights certification is also required.
  • Confined Space – Entry and Responsible certification is necessary.
