About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth AOD Outreach Worker to join our team at Youth Projects Ltd. As a key member of our Youth Outreach Team, you will be responsible for delivering individual counselling and case management support services to young people aged in the Northwest region, focusing on substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments, provide direct interventions, and undertake structured and semi-structured counselling sessions with young people.
  • Operate within a case management and brief intervention model to address substance use issues and related concerns.
  • Engage with high schools in the region to provide education and information to students through brief interventions and group sessions.
  • Collaborate with other supports and services to create holistic interventions and ensure the well-being and needs of at-risk young people are met effectively.
Requirements
  • Possession of the AOD core competency skillset or a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs.
  • Experience or familiarity with working in areas such as Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), Mental Health, and/or Homelessness.
  • Capability to advocate for clients to access essential services and display a commitment to ensuring the well-being and needs of at-risk young people are met effectively.
  • Proficiency in implementing harm minimization strategies and principles, understanding the importance of harm reduction and safety for vulnerable populations.
  • Action-oriented mindset, demonstrated ability to turn ideas into actionable plans, prioritizing tangible results and outcomes for the benefit of at-risk youth.
