Hawthorn-Melbourne English College has been providing English language courses for international students for almost 40 years.
We offer a range of programs to meet the varied needs of our students, including General English, Academic English and English for High School.
Our direct entry program provides students with a pathway to university.

Classes run face-to-face and teachers have additional time for preparation, marking and meetings.
Teachers typically work between 2 and 5 days a week.

Essential Skills & Qualifications- EFL/ESL teaching experience.
- An approach to teaching which shows evidence of effective class management, knowledge of TESOL theory and practice, and an understanding of student engagement and learning styles.
- The ability to carry out administrative duties required of teaching staff to a high standard.
- Professionalism, teamwork and high standards of professional conduct.
- A Working with Children Check.
- Experience across a range of ESL courses.
- Experience with students on pathways to tertiary study.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms.
- Strong MS Office competencies.
- A degree.
- An entry-level TESOL qualification.
- Postgraduate qualifications in TESOL.
- TESOL certification.
