Job Title: Training Area Range OperatorWe are seeking an experienced Training Area Range (TAR) Operator to join our team in the Northern Territory.About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a Defence division, supporting Property and Asset Services across Australia. As a TAR Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the readiness and functionality of Defence Training Areas.

  • Coordinate contractor tasks for TAR maintenance.
  • Plan, deploy, test, and recover live fire targets with Defence Units.
  • Manage TAR gates/flags per approved firing schedules.
  • Build and repair targets using Defence supplies.
  • Conduct non-technical inspections and support contractor technical checks.
  • Maintain TAR readiness through facility upkeep and weed control.
  • Operate DART, MTR, SMR & new target systems.
  • Manage inventory, stock control & storage.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in planning, placing, testing, and recovering range live fire target equipment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various target systems such as DART, MTR, and SMR.
  • Experience in inventory control, stock management, and storage maintenance.
  • Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training would be highly regarded.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
