Job Overview

 

As a senior data leader, you will drive the development of robust and scalable data pipelines, enabling business objectives across all divisions.

You will define strategic data engineering directions, adopting latest technologies and methodologies, ensuring seamless integration and reliable delivery of data to stakeholders.

This role reports to the principal manager, data engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data strategies that align with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Collaborate closely with business units, technology teams, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide expert guidance.
  • Implement and enforce data quality, governance, and security standards to maintain data integrity.
  • Optimise ETL/ELT processes to ensure high performance and reliability of data workflows.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement by adopting cutting-edge data technologies and methodologies.
  • Encourage best practices, code quality, and operational excellence within the team.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing data pipelines using Apache Spark.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python and SQL.
  • Strong experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud environments, particularly AWS services.
