Job Description

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a lecturer in tourism and event management. The successful candidate will play a key role in the ongoing development and enhancement of the curriculum within this discipline.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, subject coordination, and curriculum development, with evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience. They will also have demonstrated ability to engage with the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT).

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 9 months, located at the La Trobe Melbourne Bundoora Campus. The appointee will be responsible for coordinating and delivering subjects at both undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, ensuring that content remains current, engaging, and aligned with industry standards.

  • Develop and implement curricula that align with industry needs and academic excellence.
  • Foster collaborative relationships between the School and relevant industry partners to enhance student employability.
  • Pursue scholarly research that contributes meaningfully to the advancement of learning and teaching practices within the Tourism and Event Management discipline.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching, subject coordination, and curriculum development.
  • Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT).
