About the Role

Transgrid is seeking a System Planning Engineer to play a critical role in supporting the design, analysis, and development of high voltage transmission systems that power millions of Australians.

This role is pivotal in enabling the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient electricity supply to households and businesses across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Senior and Principal Engineers with network modelling, analysis, and forecasting
  • Deliver clear technical reports, recommendations, and stakeholder briefings
  • Streamline power system analysis processes and assess new technologies
  • Collaborate with industry partners including AEMO, DNSPs, generators, and regulators
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Experience in transmission system planning or power systems analysis
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the National Electricity Market and HV network operations
