Job Opportunity: Fitter Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Fitter Machinist to join our team in Broadmeadow, Newcastle. The successful candidate will work in our rail component overhaul line, focusing on component overhaul tasks and general workshop duties.

  • Machining Duties : You will be responsible for machining bogie axles on CNC Lathes to requalify them to desired specifications, operating CNC vertical horizontal boring machines, pressing functions, and other general machinist duties as required.
  • Quality Control : You will inspect and interpret drawings/specifications, determine manufacturing methods, and ensure standards are met.
  • Safety and Teamwork : You must commit to safety practices, teamwork, and collaboration.

About You

  • Qualifications : We require relevant Australian Trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist.
  • Experience : Proven experience in metal machining and fabrication is essential.
  • Skills : High attention to detail, solid understanding of measuring instruments, strong communication skills, and ability to troubleshoot and repair tools.
