We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer to join our Apparel team at Kmart. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating commercial, customer-focused graphics that reflect our brand's unique handwriting.
Key Responsibilities- Trend Forecasting: Identify, interpret, and implement graphic trends using global trends and markets to add value through graphic design and sales in line with Kmart's 'handwriting.'
- Ranging: Develop a range of graphics that align with our product lines and brand identity, and brief and provide support for overseas graphic designers to ensure coordination for commercial graphic outcomes.
- Product Development: Create desirable graphics to be applied to products - in line with Kmart's 'handwriting' that are unique to the external market, and work hand-in-hand with the Design Team to create print artwork that resonates with our customers and stands out in the market.
- 5+ years' experience as a Graphic Designer in apparel design, including garment drawings, textile yardages, and placements.
- Graphic Design, Surface Pattern, Illustration design degree or similar.
- Experience in apparel graphic design for menswear, womenswear, or children's wear is preferable.
- Effective time management of workload and ability to plan and prioritize with O/S team to effectively create volume ranges - one handwriting.
- Ability to work confidently and autonomously with key stakeholders in merchandise and design, including KAS design.
- Highly proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as the ability to create accurate graphic art.
- Transferable skills with ability to adapt to product types (shape, material, application, etc.).
- High level of aesthetic taste displayed in relation to color, composition, materials, coordination, and execution.
- Ability to develop product that is appealing to the target customer and a good level of influencing skills with merchandise, designer, and KAS designer.
- Able to interpret graphic requirements and delegate and manage artwork production with O/S team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
