Research Opportunity in Plant Pathology

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research team investigating aspects of grapevine and other horticultural diseases.

The Role

  • Contribute to a research project funded by Wine Australia to investigate the epidemiology and management of grapevine wood diseases.
  • Undertake and complete independent high-level data collection, report on findings to the project team, and identify new research project areas.
  • Work closely with the Principal Scientist and collaborate with other researchers to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Doctoral or close to completing a doctoral qualification in plant pathology, mycology, microbiology, molecular biology, or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Ability to plan and undertake field, laboratory, and glasshouse trials in investigations of fungal pathogens of agricultural/horticultural crops.
  • Ability to develop rapid diagnostics using molecular tools (qPCR, LAMP).
  • Record of research or professional activity relevant to the discipline.
