Vanadium Ore Characterisation Specialist

Working with critical minerals in the tropics, this exciting role involves characterising vanadium from various horizons of the Toolebuc Formation and tailings samples.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be part of a team undertaking research to inform decisions regarding characterisation techniques, ore extraction, tailings handling and environmental management.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting geological materials characterisation through instrumental methods such as EPMA, SEM, LA-ICPMS, XRD etc.
- Developing and implementing effective research strategies to achieve project goals.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD qualification or equivalent in Geology or related disciplines, with demonstrated experience in mineralogy, petrology, economic geology and/or geochemistry.
As a key member of our research team, you will contribute to the growth of the research culture within the College of Science and Engineering, the Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU) and the University.
