About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Engineer to join our Digital Ventures team at Medibank Private Limited. As a key member of our mobile engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative Android apps that meet business needs and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for Android app development, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Designers, Product Managers, and UX Researchers, to deeply understand customer problems and develop creative solutions.
- Work closely with the digital and venture teams to assess system requirements and specifications, identifying and addressing potential issues prior to implementation.
- Design and implement technical solutions for assigned initiatives, ensuring alignment with company standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot problems, share knowledge, and perform code reviews and process improvement reviews.
- Develop and maintain application documentation to ensure efficient support and effective change management.
- Monitor and report on project progress, taking action to address exceptions, problems, and unforeseen events in a timely manner.
- Maintain awareness of current Information Security standards and ensure all activities comply with these standards.
About You
- Proven industry experience in a similar role using Kotlin for Android app development.
- Experience with modular architecture and design patterns such as MVVM and MVP for clean separation of concerns.
- Proficiency in modern Kotlin features and coroutines for asynchronous tasks.
- Experience working in an agile team using Scrum or Kanban.
- Good understanding of test-driven development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and building high-quality solutions.
- Experience with Jetpack, RESTful API, and UX Principles (Material Design) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
