Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly experienced senior legal professional to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially astute lawyer who can provide strategic advice across various financial services law areas, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert legal guidance on financial services regulation, ASX Listing Rules, capital markets, managed investment schemes, and funds management.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to AFSL obligations and evolving ASIC and ASX standards.
  • Provide trusted counsel to the Board and Committees, including preparation of high-quality Board papers and governance materials.
  • Support the preparation and submission of ASIC and ASX regulatory filings and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Corporate Affairs teams on corporate reporting, particularly on remuneration and annual reporting.
  • Work across a diverse range of legal matters, with exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Oversight of secretariat functions, including board governance and corporate compliance processes.
Requirements:
  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Practising as a senior lawyer for 10+ years, with expertise in financial services law, corporate advisory, and governance.
  • Background in top-tier or leading mid-tier law firms and/or in-house legal and company secretariat roles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to partner effectively across legal, finance, investor relations, risk, and audit functions.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to influence strategic decision-making through clear, practical legal guidance.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
