The Rosebery Mine is an underground polymetallic base metal mine situated in Tasmania, Australia.
Since 1936, it has been integral to the Rosebery community and stands as one of Tasmania's largest and longest-operating underground mines, producing zinc, copper, lead concentrates, and gold doré.
The mine supports around 500 employees and their families, with a strong focus on community engagement and collaboration with local businesses, thereby enhancing the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
MMG operates an office in Burnie, allowing employees the flexibility to work from there when not required on-site.
Rosebery is conveniently located near Strahan and is a short drive from Burnie and Devonport, offering exceptional outdoor activities such as fishing, canoeing, white-water rafting, rock climbing, and hiking.
Role Overview: Talent Acquisition Advisor
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the newly established Talent Acquisition Advisor role will be responsible for ensuring that MMG Rosebery Mine attracts, recruits, and retains top talent throughout the recruitment lifecycle while providing general support to the HR team.
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in a mining or related environment, demonstrating well-developed skills and personal attributes, including:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian job market and available skill sets, along with exceptional abilities in sourcing, selecting, and engaging potential candidates.
- Familiarity with the HR value proposition.
- Understanding of HR functions and responsibilities, along with insights into how recruitment supports these elements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of recruitment legislation.
- Awareness of the mining lifecycle and associated job families.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various hiring managers.
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a driven Talent Acquisition Professional seeking to enhance their skills within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide recruitment support and insights on the Australian Labour Market to hiring managers and the HR team.
- Develop and implement a recruitment strategy that aligns with the HR and overall business objectives.
- Review recruitment requests from hiring managers, ensuring accurate position descriptions and remuneration recommendations.
- Train hiring managers on MMG's recruitment processes, focusing on improving interviewing techniques and adhering to required protocols.
- Generate reports for hiring managers and the HR team regarding recruitment activities, candidate pipeline status, and hiring progress.
- Assist the HR team in succession planning, emphasizing critical skills and hard-to-fill roles.
- Manage the complete recruitment and selection process for both blue- and white-collar positions.
- Collaborate with managers to assess employee performance during the probationary period.
- Oversee the probationary review process for new hires, ensuring timely reviews and effective communication of feedback.
- Conduct exit interviews for departing employees to gather insights on their employment experience.
- Cultivate and maintain proactive and constructive relationships with internal stakeholders, the HR team, external partners, candidates, and recruitment industry networks.
