We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair of water and sewer infrastructure, with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out routine and reactive maintenance tasks on water and sewer delivery and treatment infrastructure. This will include responding to equipment failures, fault finding, and performing basic maintenance tasks to remedy faults.

In addition to their technical skills, the successful candidate will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople and engineers to achieve project goals.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from planned preventive maintenance to emergency response situations. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality results and ensuring the reliability and security of our water supply systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A trade certificate in a relevant mechanical discipline;
  • National Licence to perform High Risk work;
  • Current Drivers Licence;
  • Truck Licence HC or MR;
  • Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development;
  • Desirable: Experience working on wastewater treatment plants and all equipment located within the plant, experience working on water filtration plants, generator maintenance servicing experience.
