We are seeking experienced aviation maintenance professionals to support the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler platform in a Modification and Deeper Level maintenance facility at RAAF Base Amberley.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a team that is at the cutting edge of new emerging technologies, collaborating with Defence industry partners to advance the nation's defensive capabilities.
Responsibilities
- The aircraft maintenance engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components, and equipment.
- They will complete assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of activities, including sign-off and certification of those activities in accordance with Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD).
- The engineer will interpret Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
- Additionally, they will provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in their development pathway.
Accountabilities
- Reporting to the assigned Maintenance Operations Manager.
- Liaising with Boeing and other Industry teams involved in maintenance operations at Amberley.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Essential Experience / Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics).
- Sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework.
- Australian citizenship.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain an Australian Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
- DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) or ability to obtain.
- Previous experience as a maintenance certifier/trade supervisor.
- Good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.
- Prior supervisory or leadership training.
- Working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems.
- C class driver's licence.
- Australian Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
