About the Position

The Royal Children's Hospital's (RCH) Infant, Child and Family Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Outreach Worker to join our team. As a member of the HOPE program, you will work closely with other professionals to provide tailored support to children and their families/carers in North and West Metropolitan Melbourne. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing practical support and advice to parents/carers in accessing community-based services and agencies
  • Engaging and supporting parents/carers through various means to promote recovery-oriented practice
  • Sharing your personal mental health lived experience where appropriate

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing peer support to parents/carers within the HOPE program
  • Facilitating linkages to services, NGO based supports, and governmental agencies that provide practical support to families
  • Supporting families to access these services and providing advocacy
