About the Role

The Gordon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Koorie Student Support Officer to join our Kitjarra Wurrun-Ngeen centre. This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in supporting the effective operation of our Aboriginal Education Unit and achieving successful learning outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

As a Koorie Student Support Officer, you will be based at our Geelong City Campus and will be a key contact for potential and current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and the Aboriginal Community. You will report to and be supported by our Coordinator Aboriginal Education Support and Experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, including academic and personal support
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and retention
  • Work closely with the Coordinator Aboriginal Education Support and Experience to achieve unit goals and objectives
  • Contribute to the development of culturally responsive programs and services
