Disability Support Professional

We are seeking individuals to support people with disabilities in achieving their goals and aspirations.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a Disability Support Professional, you will be directly responsible for providing day-to-day support, personal care and personal development to our customers. You will provide community living services to assist people with a disability to be actively involved in their local community, valued, respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities and relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individuals with disabilities in all aspects of daily life, including personal care and domestic duties.
  • Assisting with personal development, goal setting and achieving outcomes that promote independence and self-advocacy.
  • Providing support in the community, enabling individuals to participate in activities, events and experiences that enhance their quality of life.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated support for each individual.
  • Embracing and promoting a culture of respect, empathy and understanding towards individuals with disabilities and their families.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have: Transferrable skills in providing care and compassion to others; Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (essential); Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts; Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID0011) or willingness to obtain prior to commencing; Willingness to provide a NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC); Ability to support others with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful way; and Capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks.
