Australian Government Department of Defence seeks a highly skilled and experienced Aerospace Technical Support Specialist to join its team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who wants to make a difference in ensuring the safety and security of Australians by contributing to the mission readiness and airworthiness of the Royal Australian Navy's MH-60R Seahawk Romeo helicopter fleet.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working under the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASRs) or similar current or recent domestic and/or international civilian and/or military aviation technical regulations, as well as reasonable rotary wing technical experience and subject matter expertise. Additionally, they will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly motivated and professional, and have a demonstrated commitment to personal development.
As an Aerospace Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support services within required timeframes through performing complex technical assessments and associated tasks, engaging with stakeholders to deliver and exercise appropriate technical delegations, providing technical knowledge and advice in relation to complex work or difficult issues, and contributing to strategic planning, program and project management. You will also be required to work with USN counterparts in relation to USN technical information deliverables used in support of technical assessments and other required work outputs.
Successful applicants will be part of a diverse team made up of APS, ADF, US Navy and contractors, all driven to ensure both the airworthiness and mission readiness of the RAN's MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Helicopter fleet and the safety of its aviators and aircraft maintenance staff. You may also provide ad-hoc technical support to rotary wing design activities and flight trials.
To be successful in this role, you will need to work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for achievement of work outcomes, be willing and able to coach or lead a small team of technical specialists to achieve work outcomes in a timely manner, build team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others, and have a strong understanding of computer literacy including MS products and Defence IT systems. In return, you will enjoy job security, good remuneration, no shift work and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. An estimated salary for this position is around $80,000 - $110,000 per year. The workplace environment requirements for this role include computer use, generic screen-based work, sitting at a desk, site visits, and works in a customer service environment. Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) provisions are available to accommodate individual circumstances.
Our ideal candidate will be comfortable networking with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders to build and sustain key working relationships, demonstrate a commitment to diversity of thought, and ensure positive and professional workplace relationships and behaviours.
