About the Role

Linfox Intermodal is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Lead to oversee our APG Express Network based in West Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable services for one of our major customers. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing strategies that enhance service performance, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes.

In this role, you will drive success across our Intermodal business by streamlining operations, identifying areas for improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence within the team. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring Vision Zero is a top priority within the operation, with safety at the forefront of every decision made
  2. Achieving agreed-upon Safety goals aligned with Intermodals Safety strategy and specific annual Site Safety Plans or real-time changes in safety performance
  3. Collaborating strategically with the customer to identify new opportunities to grow our share of the wallet through provision of exceptional service and collaboration in go-to-market activities
  4. Providing customer service excellence in all aspects of the operation and upholding high standards of integrity in service offerings, administration, and communication
  5. Communicating Intermodal's strategic priorities to ensure the team understands how this translates to individual roles and teams
  6. Complying with Linfox requirements, policies, and procedures at all times, including the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System

About You

To succeed in this challenging role, you will require:

  • At least 7 years' experience in a Transport operations environment and/or transport network planning environment
  • Significant experience in leading change and driving strategic objectives
  • Operational experience with substantial knowledge of transport processes, compliance, and planning, accompanied by demonstrable application of this knowledge
  • A strong understanding of transportation technology and optimization tools to drive results across the logistics and supply chain space
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the transport industry, transport equipment, and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain and transport optimization and modeling/consulting methodologies, along with strong presentation and executive-level communication skills
  • Extensive expertise in transport operations and transitioning to best practice end-to-end transport solutions, including last-mile route optimization
  • Highly advanced Excel skills, data analytics tools, and good competency in general business software, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Compensation Package

We offer an attractive compensation package, which includes a salary of approximately $160,000 per annum, based on your exceptional skills and experience. This figure is estimated and may vary based on individual circumstances.
