UGL is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team in Perth, Western Australia.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in health, safety, and security management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in offshore oil/gas, major projects, FPSO, construction, decommissioning, or installation.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of health, safety, and security. This involves developing and implementing project Health Safety, Security (HSS) & Environmental Management and Emergency Response (ER) Plans, conducting HSS reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards, and participating in HSS & ER risk management workshops.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be required to:

  • Implement and maintain HSS & ER aspects of Project HSE Management Plans.
  • Support project contract owners in meeting HSS requirements.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support HSS & ER requirements.
  • Facilitate HSS & ER assurance activities, including audits.
  • Assist with hazard and incident management and reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver HSS & ER training sessions.
  • Monitor decommissioning and project operations for compliance.
  • Provide HSS site representation as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in safety, health, or related fields.
  • 7-10 years' experience in offshore oil/gas, major projects, FPSO, construction, decommissioning, or installation.
  • Knowledge of HSS management systems and WA safety case regimes.
  • Familiarity with Commonwealth, State, and Territory HSE legislation.
  • Experience in auditing, investigations, and incident management.
  • Causal Analysis Investigation Training (e.g., TapRoot).
  • Internal/External Auditor training.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Certifications: TBOSIET, CAEBS, MISC.
