Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering Evidence-Based Care: You will provide expert midwifery care to women and their families, adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Liaising with Multi-Disciplinary Teams: You will work collaboratively with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Patient Safety: You will ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Leadership and Supervision: You will supervise and direct midwifery/nursing team members, including enrolled nurses and assistants in nursing, to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Education and Support: You will provide education and support to mothers and their families, promoting healthy outcomes and empowering them to make informed decisions.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certified Midwife Registration: You must hold current registration as a midwife with AHPRA.
  • New South Wales Working with Children Check: You must hold a valid WWCC.
  • Proven Experience: You must have proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating your expertise and skills.
  • Special Care Nursery Experience: While not essential, experience in a special care nursery is highly desirable.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards: You must adhere to the Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Health Care (ACQSHC) national standards.
  • Sound Clinical Decision Making: You must possess excellent sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Customer Service: You must have excellent communication and customer service skills, able to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Teamwork: You must be able to work independently and within a team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Basic Computer Skills: You must possess basic computer skills, able to navigate electronic health records and other relevant systems.
