Job Description:As a Disability Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of adults living with disabilities. Your presence will bring comfort and confidence to our residents, allowing them to live their best lives.
You will provide person-centered support that caters to the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each resident. This may include assisting with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and medication management.
One of the key aspects of this role is creating a vibrant living environment by planning and facilitating recreational and social activities. You will encourage participation and meaningful interactions that promote social connections among our residents.
As a compassionate listener and a source of emotional support, you will be a valued member of our team. Your understanding and empathy will provide a sense of security and belonging to our residents.
Maintaining a clean and organized living space for our residents is also an essential part of this role. You will assist with household chores, laundry, and other tasks that contribute to a comfortable living environment.
Clear and concise documentation is crucial for effective communication and care continuity. You will maintain accurate and thorough records of daily activities, progress, and incidents.
In challenging situations or emergencies, your quick thinking and problem-solving skills will shine. You will possess the ability to respond calmly and effectively, ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module
- Valid Australian Driver's License
- Victorian Working with Children Check (employee status)
- Current CPR & First Aid certificate
- Qualification in Disability, Community Services, Social Work or equivalent (desirable)
