Castlegate James is seeking a highly experienced General Manager - Manufacturing to lead our manufacturing operations across Australia.
This senior leadership role reports directly to the Group CEO and is responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency of all manufacturing sites across the country.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining high-quality standards
- Driving profitability across our facilities
- Recruiting, directing, and developing senior site management teams
- Collaborating with Site Managers to develop and implement best manufacturing practices
- Leading and guiding the Manufacturing staff, fostering a positive and proactive team culture
This role requires regular travel between sites, with some overnight stays.
About YouTo qualify, you will need a tertiary degree in agriculture, business, or a related field, along with significant senior management experience in the stock feed, food, or agricultural manufacturing industries.
A deep understanding of nutrition and product knowledge within the stock feed and agriculture sector is also essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Hands-on management style, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic, multi-site environment
- Strong experience in people management and team development
- Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP
- Proven track record in leading manufacturing teams with a focus on process implementation and maintenance
- Exceptional commercial acumen and a strategic mindset
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and practices, including OH&S, with a commitment to leading by example
