Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

This is a senior-level position that involves leading the evaluation and potential migration of on-premises virtualisation platforms from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V.

This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure architecture, as well as experience in migrating workloads between different virtualisation platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend optimal architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Migrate Workloads: Lead the migration of workloads from VMware to Hyper-V, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Evaluate Infrastructure: Assess and evaluate existing infrastructure, including hardware and software components.
  • Deploy Solutions: Build and deploy Microsoft-based solutions, including Azure Stack HCI.
  • Analyse Challenges: Analyse challenges related to hyperconverged storage, such as vSAN, and develop strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate Teams: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Migration Experience: Demonstrated experience migrating workloads between different virtualisation platforms.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Deep understanding of infrastructure architecture, including Hyper-V deployment options and Azure Stack HCI.
  • Hyperconverged Storage: Familiarity with hyperconverged storage and Microsoft alternatives.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and architectural design skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
