Payroll Supervisor

Busways is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join their team in a period of exciting growth. The successful candidate will have extensive end-to-end payroll experience, ensuring the team continues to excel in providing efficient and accurate payroll services to staff across multiple locations in NSW and SA.
Role Responsibilities- Manage the timely and accurate payment of all payruns for allocated employees on a weekly and fortnightly basis.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, identifying opportunities to maintain payroll system integrity.
- Review and approve payroll files to ensure accuracy and adherence to relevant regulations and employment agreements.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of payroll officers, including training new staff, assigning tasks, and managing workloads to meet deadlines and performance targets.
- Interpret and adhere to industry Enterprise Agreements, awards, and NES.
- Assist in developing and maintaining payroll policies and procedures in line with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
- Ensure the organization's payroll practices align with legal obligations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to the team in resolving complex payroll calculations and transactions, such as bonuses, commissions, variable pay, and terminations.
- Minimum 6+ years' experience in a payroll team.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in managing (directly or indirectly) other team members to achieve an outcome.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high-quality outcomes, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with MS Office and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with complex matters.
- Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have working rights in Australia.
- Current Australian driver's license issued by the relevant State.
