Job Overview

Powertech offers a leading role in electrical engineering services, providing high-voltage and low-voltage solutions to various industries across Australia and Southeast Asia.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth. The ideal candidate will have strong theoretical and practical knowledge of high-voltage systems, including primary plant and secondary systems.

The role involves commissioning, testing, and maintaining high-voltage protection systems, substations, and power generation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commissioning, testing, and maintaining high-voltage protection systems and schemes with IEC61850/GOOSE communication expertise
  • Commissioning, testing, and maintaining high-voltage substations and primary plant
  • Commissioning, testing, and maintaining high-voltage/low-voltage plant/assets
  • Providing technical support and training to technicians
  • Leading and supervising technicians
  • Preparing commissioning/testing documentation and detailed technical reports
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Grade Electrical Workers License or an Engineering Degree/Diploma in Power Systems
  • Minimum 10 years' experience
  • HV Switching Ticket preferred
  • Experience with IEC61850 and GOOSE messaging through IED Scout viewed favorably
  • Knowledge of Australian and International Standards
  • Ability to meet project quality, schedule, and budget requirements
