
Area Development Manager

The Area Manager is a pivotal role that requires effective leadership and sales management skills to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Achieve or exceed weekly, monthly, and yearly sales targets by managing the team effectively and maximizing sales opportunities.
- Track, understand, and analyze the area's financials, including budgets, current sales performance, past sales results, top and bottom performing stores, store traffic/conversion, and key performance metrics.
- Ensure customers feel welcome in stores and are engaged with our brands and products.
- Develop and maintain product knowledge and share it with customers as part of the instore experience.
- Lead by example, demonstrating passion and commitment that inspires the team.
- Train and develop the team to achieve personal and group goals.
- Coach and develop the team daily, delegating and sharing responsibilities to ensure development areas are utilized to their full potential.
- Monitor individual store performance weekly and monthly to inform strong business decisions when rostering, succession planning, and recruiting.
- Conduct quarterly succession plans with the Retail GM to set up the area for future growth.
- Host area meetings and mini training sessions, including store financials, product information, and feedback sessions.
- Ensure all team members are up-to-date with current business, brand, and product information.
- Distribute fortnightly rosters to store teams, ensuring they are financially sound and aligned with team structure, development needs, and performance expectations.
- Raise and manage team performance issues within the area alongside the Store Manager.
- Undertake performance management and necessary disciplinary action with the assistance of the Retail GM or HR.
- Ensure all team members present themselves in line with company and brand standards and expectations.
- Ensure stores are presented in line with Visual Merchandising standards and campaign guidelines at all times.
- Complete and analyze best sellers reports throughout the week, implementing learning in store merchandising and inventory management.
- Suggest and manage local area marketing initiatives to maximize sales and enhance the store profile.
- Monitor fast and slow selling styles and adjust inventory accordingly.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing stock transfers are managed effectively in-store and via inter-store transfers.
- Communicate any stock delivery discrepancies to the Retail Buyer within 24 hours of the stock arrival.
- Complete seasonal stocktakes with the store team, Retail Buyer, Retail Operations, and Retail GM.
- Achievement of Area/Stores total Budget.
- Utilization of Omni Sales Initiatives and opportunities.
- Control of Store expenses.
- Achievement of Store Shrinkage targets.
- Achievement of Store wages and roster targets.
- People & Succession Plans in place for future growth.
- Store promotions and marketing implemented effectively.
- Engagement in Local Area marketing.
- Store team presenting themselves on brand at all times.
- Store Admin and policies adhered to at all times.
- Financials and team goals up-to-date and communicated to the team and retail support roles daily.
