Job Description

The Academic Advisor role at the University of New England is a dynamic opportunity to empower students to achieve their educational and personal goals. As a key member of the Oorala team, you will provide comprehensive advice and guidance to students, working collaboratively with university stakeholders to ensure resources are current and effective.

About the Role:

  • This position requires an individual with lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, who has a strong commitment to the academic success of UNE's Indigenous students and understanding of their challenges.
  • Deep knowledge of university systems and frameworks is essential, with the ability to make these accessible for students.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills within university and professional networks are required.
  • Effective organisational skills demonstrated through managing programs or projects for tertiary students are necessary.

Benefits:

  • This full-time role offers a salary range of $89,663 to $98,556 per annum (HEO6), plus 17% employer superannuation.
  • Salary packaging options are available, providing employees with greater flexibility in managing their compensation.
  • A generous leave package includes 10 days Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and ceremonial leave per annum, in addition to five weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown.
