Job Description

As a seasoned Ruby on Rails developer, you will play a pivotal role in revitalizing and enhancing an existing application geared towards the construction industry. You will need to be adaptable, a fast learner, and able to add value to the project with your expertise.

Our team of developers contribute by proposing efficient or best approaches to providing a technical solution. Creative thinking and an awareness of industry-standard development strategies are essential for this role.

You will have the opportunity to work on a brand-new application with a fresh new team, keeping it simple with a Rails app serving up pages to a thin client. Test driven development is the norm here, as is high-quality, lightweight OO code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To reimplement and enhance an existing application targeted towards the construction industry.
  • Adapt and learn quickly to add value to the project.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in the following areas is highly valued:

  • TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • Demonstrable commercial full stack Ruby on Rails development experience (5+ years)
  • Proven record of building sophisticated Rails applications that integrate with various third-party services
  • Proven experience with Linux, preferably experience setting up Ruby on Rails in a Linux environment
  • Proven experience with relational data modelling and SQL
  • Proven experience analyzing existing application processes and designing and implementing improvements
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM related development methodologies and technologies
