About the Team

The Storage Layer Services Team is redefining the next generation of MongoDB Cloud Storage Architecture. This team sits at the heart of our efforts to build performant multi-tenant distributed storage services that enhance our existing architecture and power more customer use cases efficiently.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop secure, high-performance cloud-native storage solutions ensuring seamless automatic failover and zero downtime.
  • Implement and operate production-ready applications in Rust.
  • Diagnose test failures and performance regressions, and implement fixes to ensure smooth operation.
  • Lead development and project management for large, cross-team initiatives driving business growth.
  • Identify, design, implement, test, and support new features related to Storage Layer Services while contributing to operational excellence.
Success Metrics
  • In the first month: Understand the high-level architecture of our Cloud Storage Architecture and resolve key bugs.
  • In three months: Contribute to the Rust development of a project slated for initial release and take on code review responsibilities.
  • In six months: Lead the development of a new feature and help mentor junior engineers on the team.
