Job Opportunity

The role of Technical Excellence Coach is a pivotal position within our team, responsible for delivering training to Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentices and new Technicians. This position builds on the success of our pilot program and requires an experienced trainer with expertise in engine products, diagnostics, and repair.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Coach and develop less experienced technicians and apprentices to independently undertake troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on Cummins Products.
  • Deliver Diesel Engine Fundamentals and Basic Diagnostic training to all apprentices in the region.
  • Collaborate with other trainers to achieve Heavy Vehicle Mechanical milestone training plan objectives.
  • Provide updates on progress to stakeholders and communicate your training program delivery schedule with Supervisors, Workshop Manager, and Service Manager.
  • Maintain a focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure their understanding of workplace hazards and risk.
  • Contribute to the annual Apprentice Onboarding Program.
Requirements:
  • Advanced level knowledge of and experience with Heavy Duty Engine products is essential.
  • Prior experience providing technical advice and coaching to apprentices/technicians is preferred.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards achievement of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • A minimum of 4 years post-trade apprenticeship completion is preferred.
  • Candidates must be based in Perth and willing to travel across the region as required.
