Position Overview
As the Lead Nurse for the Practice Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient nursing services within our medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care
- Execute a variety of direct patient care tasks in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Responsibilities may include administering vaccinations, medications, conducting diagnostic tests, wound care, triage, and assisting with medical procedures.

Chronic Disease Management
- Collaborate with General Practitioners to perform health assessments and manage chronic conditions effectively.
- Facilitate a coordinated care approach for patients with chronic illnesses, ensuring collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical teams.

Nurse-Led Clinics
- Gather patient health histories, plan and document care, and assess patient outcomes in line with endorsed policies.
- Communicate patient progress to General Practitioners and escalate any concerns as necessary.

Nursing Leadership
- Participate in internal and external meetings representing nursing interests.
- Delegate operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of nursing services.
- Manage nursing schedules and address staffing needs proactively.

Clinical Administration
- Maintain adequate stock levels in clinical areas and ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Conduct routine checks and ensure all instruments are properly sterilized and maintained.

Workplace Health & Safety
- Model best practices in workplace health and safety.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies among all personnel.

Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with AHPRA.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to meet registration requirements.

Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in direct clinical nursing care, preferably in a primary care environment.
- Management experience is advantageous.
