Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen in KPMG's Office of General Counsel (OGC) for a commercial lawyer for a fixed term of 12 months. The OGC deals with a wide variety of corporate and commercial arrangements and agreements, regulatory issues and litigation. We are looking for talented people who share our purpose of inspiring confidence and empowering change for our clients, our people and our communities. 

Your Opportunity

Forming part of the Office of General Counsel team this role will play a key role in a wide variety of corporate and commercial arrangements and agreements, regulatory issues and litigation by

  • draft and negotiate general contracts and commercial agreements

  • Review new products and service offerings

  • Provide legal advice in relation to tender documents and client service offerings

  • Liaise closely with the business and external counsel

How are you extraordinary?

You must hold a current practicing certificate, and we value lawyers with:

  • 3-4 years post admission experience with a leading law firm or in an in-house environment

  • Experience negotiating general commercial contracts (experience in the engineering consultancy field is not essential but will be considered an asset)

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience building relationships with internal clients at all levels

  • A proactive and commercial approach to problem solving

Qualifications

You are an admitted lawyer and hold a current practising certificate.
